Average Time Calculator

About

About this calculator

Average Time Calculator is an independent utility for people who work with time data. It is built to be faster than a spreadsheet and clearer than a single average, with no accounts, ads, or server-side data collection.

Built and maintained by the Average Time Calculator team

What does this calculator do?

This calculator finds the mean of a set of durations or clock times. For durations, each value is converted to seconds, summed, and divided by the count. For clock times, the page uses circular averaging so values such as 23:50 and 00:10 average close to 00:00 instead of 12:00.

How are the calculations verified?

Every formula maps to a standard spreadsheet function or published definition. For example, Google's documentation defines the AVERAGE function as one that "returns the numerical average value in a dataset" (Google Support), which is the arithmetic this tool applies to durations. Clock time mode follows the definition of a circular mean from Wikipedia.

Free and private

No account, no sign-up, and no time data is uploaded or stored on a server.

Built for real data

Mixed formats, weighted records, CSV import, and shareable result links are supported.

Editorial standards

Every formula is checked against public references and spreadsheet functions. Errors reported by users are corrected and logged publicly.

Public and auditable

Every calculation is documented and mapped to standard spreadsheet functions, so anyone can review the parser, the circular-mean math, and every calculation.

How can I contact the team?
